He is the author of Media Rituals: A Critical Approach, Inside Culture and The Place of Media Power: Pilgrims and Witnesses of the Media Age. Anna McCarthy is Associate Professor of Cinema Studies at New York University. She is the author of Ambient Television: Visual Culture and Public Space.
