About the Authors

after earning a ba in english (vanderbilt university), pamela s. showalter worked tenyears in the corporate world then entered graduate school, earning an ma in anthropology from arizona state university followed by a phd in geography from the university of colorado (boulder). she became a geography professor, retiring from texas state university after writing numerous peer-reviewed academic articles and co-editing Geospatial Techniques in Urban Hazards and Disaster Analysis (Springer Publishing). She now works primarily as a landscape photographer, displaying and selling her work at a variety of venues and at pamela-showalter.pixels.com.

raylene bell earned both her bs and ms in speech pathology from texas tech university (lubbock). she spent over 40 years in that field working for hospitals, in management, as a consultant, as an expert witness, and in her own clinics. she recently retired from her position as president of the central texas region of cole pediatric therapy.
