David E. Johnson is a senior political scientist at the RAND Corporation whose research focuses on military doctrine and organization, history, innovation and transformation, and civil-military relations. He holds Ph.D. and M.A. degrees in history from Duke University, an M.S. from Industrial College of the Armed Forces, M.M.A.S. from U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and a B.A. from Trinity University. His latest projects focused on joint warfighting implications of lessons learned from recent conflicts.
