Rose Sugden is a Yorkshire girl through and through. In pre-First World War Bradford, Roses maternal grandfather, Caleb Rimmington, is one of Bradfords wealthiest mill owners and her father is a highly talented tapestry designer. Laurence Sugdens artistic talent is not put to use at Rimmingtons Mill, however, for Caleb, disappointed in his daughters marriage to a mere working-man, has disowned her and refuses all contact with her three children. Born in Bradford, she is married to a Londoner, has five children and two dogs and lives in Whitstable, Kent. Apart from writing, her passions are tango, travel, English history and the English countryside.
