Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly Kan tyvärr inte längre levereras innan julafton.
New York chef Tony Bourdain gives away secrets of the trade in his wickedly funny, inspiring memoir and expos. From his first oyster in the Gironde to his lowly position as a dishwasher in a honky-tonk, Bourdain's tales of the kitchen are as passionate as they are unpredictable. "Kitchen Confidential" reveals what Bourdain calls "25 years of sex, drugs, bad behavior and haute cuisine".

Recensioner i media

Read this book before you order in another restaurant!

Bourdain describes the inner life of restaurants. The conflicts and jealousy between cooks, the heat and the dirt, the alcohol and drug abuse. But also the happy moments, the good days, and the great characters.

Bourdain has a good eye for details, and a good memory (or he is a good liar). From the chapter on how cooks talk you are likely to pick up some expressions you did not know.

I cook only in my home kitchen, but do enjoy to eat out. I do not know how well Swedish restaurants compare to American, but I have learnt a few things to look out for, wherever I go.

I can recommend this book to anyone interested in food, cooking, restaurants, and modern city life.
