my name is alexa & i'm a junior in high school! i love

your poems, especially about world affairs. i will be doing

a poetry analysis on three of your poems (i've chosen

sandstorm in iraq, tsunami, and there is no flower in

darfur) and also a presentation to inform the class of your

works, accomplishments & biography. i have been searching

every website and library on some information about

you, but can't find any! if you can it would be greatly

appreciated if you could tell me a little about your childhood,

parents, education, religious beliefs, and maybe

some experiences that have shaped your views or positions

in regards to your poetry!
