This study is concerned with the genesis and theology of St. Johna (TM)s Gospel. It demonstrates firstly that John based the second part of his work, that dealing with Jesusa (TM) final days, death and resurrection, on a source independent of the corresponding accounts in the other three New Testament Gospels. Thus it illuminates not only the specific theological character of this source text, but also Johna (TM)s specific understanding of Christa (TM)s Passion and Resurrection.
