Carnacki lives in a bachelor flat in No 472 Cheyne Walk, Chelsea; the stories are told from a first-person perspective by Dodgson, a member of Carnacki's "e;strictly limited circle of friends"e;, much as Holmes' adventures were told from Watson's point of view. Flaxman Low is a fictional character created by British authors Hesketh Hesketh-Prichard and his mother Kate O'Brien Ryall Prichard, published under the pseudonyms "e;H. Heron"e; and "e;E. Heron"e;.
